CONNECTING RODS

Models CR, OTRE and OTRC
Standard, Extension & Compression Overtravel

Model CR Connecting Rods are used whenever a fixed distance of motion transfer is required.

Models OTRE and OTRC extension and compression spring-loaded overtravel rods are used to transfer motion to a component that requires a more precise position at the end of its displacement. In such instance, the cam and lever linkage is not capable of achieving the desired accuracy of stroke and a 'kiss block' is used to limit the stroke thus permitting the cam to "overthrow" slightly. The difference is taken up by the over-travel rod. Therefore, the cam follower remains on the cam throughout the cycle, preventing severe shock and or peening.

Model OTRE provides an extension of the rod when the force is great enough to overcome the spring. This connecting rod extends under load and is positive in compression.

Model OTRC provides a compression of the rod when the force is great enough to overcome the spring. This connecting rod compresses under load and is positive in tension.

All models feature one right hand and one left hand threaded rod end for easy length adjustment.
